Context
Why did Decathlon need this?
Decathlon Portugal needed a corporate site consistent with a global brand but run day-to-day by a local team, with news, press, media and campaign pages published without a development queue.
Product
What did we build?
A corporate site with its own editorial back-office: news, press clippings, media library, newsletter, user management, and a drag-and-drop page builder editors compose pages with.
Experience
What is it like to use?
Editors build pages from approved components such as maps, timelines, galleries and video, and publish directly. The public site carries interactive surfaces like a world map, a Portugal map and animated storytelling sections.
Engineering
How is it built?
The infrastructure costs almost nothing when nobody is using it and grows on its own when a campaign lands. How it is put together is written down and reproducible rather than configured by hand, and a test suite has to pass before anything ships. The content tools were built rather than bought, because the editorial process fits the team and not a licence.
Outcome
What changed?
The marketing team publishes independently on infrastructure that scales to campaign traffic without idle cost. The platform later carried the 25th-anniversary campaign as a plug-in experience.
